We are rapidly approaching the pool opening date of May 16th.

POOL MAINTENANCE
Due to ever-changing regulations governing pools, we need to replace the main drain covers, as well as the one in the baby pool. These regulations are designed to reduce the potential of a swimmer becoming entrapped against the drain cover.

To accomplish this, we will begin draining the pool on Monday, April 6th. The process will take a few days to complete, and the pool will then be refilled.

SWIM TEAM
Also of note, the swim team will be starting a week later due to a history of cold water and air temperatures in late May.

This will also push the final meet and party to July 1st, weather permitting. The July 2nd date shown will only be used if we are unable to have the meet and party on the 1st.

I want everyone to know that the Callonwood swim team is a hit with many families, with children progressing from Guppies to accomplished competitive swimmers.

As a rule, we have 40 to 50 children there at each practice, and it only takes 14 hours of public swim time away.

Once school is out, we move our practices to the mornings before the pool opens to the neighborhood.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE EVENTS
This year, the Social Committee has two Happy Hours planned: one in June (Saturday) and one in August (Friday).

We do close the pool at 6:30 PM on those evenings and limit attendance to adults to avoid any potential problems.

It is BYOB, as the HOA/Social Committee cannot sell or provide alcohol for attendees.

REMINDERS
Please note that parties at the pool must be pre-approved using the form on our website and paid for in advance.

FOB usage will continue to be strictly enforced, and the camera system on the gate will assist in this effort.

Do not allow others to drift in behind you, as unauthorized swimmers can create a liability for the neighborhood.

All of these activities are covered in your annual budget, except for the swim team, which is self-supporting with their registration fees.
