“The Townhomes just finished the first round of treatments, outlined below and we will start treating other areas throughout our neighborhood.
Starting this Monday, our trusted vendor, Arborguard, will commence a significant phase of the Tree Project, focusing on the preservation of the Red Maples along our streets and in common areas. This multi-step process is essential for ensuring the health and vitality of our beloved trees.
From May 13th to May 15th, Arborguard will be addressing trees with girdling roots. These roots grow in a circular or spiral pattern around the trunk or just below the soil line, gradually strangling the tree and impeding its access to essential nutrients and water. To alleviate this issue, Arborguard will be removing some of these roots to facilitate the tree’s growth and overall health. We kindly request that residents refrain from parking in front of these Red Maples during this time to allow Arborguard ample space to work and to safeguard your vehicles.
On May 16th, the trees will undergo a nutrient injection aimed at bolstering their health. Again, we urge residents to avoid parking in front of the designated Red Maples to facilitate the treatment process and ensure the safety of your vehicles.
Finally, on May 17th, the trees will be treated with an insecticide to control armored bark and foliage-feeding insects. While the process is expected to be completed by noon, as a precaution, we advise residents and their pets to avoid the treated areas until approximately 1 pm, or until the bark is dry, to ensure the insecticide has fully dried. Once more, we kindly ask that parking in front of these Red Maples be avoided to facilitate the treatment and ensure vehicle safety.
In the event of adverse weather conditions such as rain or high winds next week, treatments may be postponed and rescheduled for a later date to maintain their effectiveness. We will keep you informed of any changes to the schedule due to weather conditions.
We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to safeguard our community’s greenery and preserve the beauty of our neighborhood. Your support in this endeavor is invaluable, and we thank you for your continued cooperation.”
