This communication was sent to all residents via email.

Dear Callonwood Neighbor:

On January 13th the email below was sent to all Callonwood residents regarding the need to remove any remaining leaves in and around your property and to trim trees that overhang sidewalks and the street. Thankfully, many residents have attended to this request.

However, in multiple cases, leaves were not picked up, including those in street gutters – especially near storm drains. For those who still need to take this action, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible to prevent a violation which is the step in the enforcement process.

Thank you for your swift attention to these requests.

This is a mass communication being sent to all residents.

Dear Callonwood Resident,

As leaf season comes to a close, we would like to thank those residents who have consistently maintained leaf removal on their property and in front of their homes. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and help keep our community safe, attractive, and well maintained.

We are now asking all residents to address any remaining leaves and seasonal tree maintenance. Please review the reminders below.

Leaf Removal

  • Remove all remaining leaves from your yard, curb, and the street and gutter in front of your home.
  • Leaves left behind can blow onto neighboring properties and clog storm drains.
  • Removing leaves now helps prepare lawns for healthy spring growth.
  • When bagging leaves for sanitation pickup, use clear plastic or paper leaf bags (available at Home Depot or Lowe’s).
  • Black plastic bags are often rejected.
  • Please do not place bagged leaves at the curb until just prior to the scheduled landscaping pickup day.

Tree Pruning and Safety

  • During tree dormancy is the best time to prune trees. Please prune trees  over streets and sidewalks as necessary to maintain safety and visibility.
  • Maintain a minimum clearance of 14 feet over roadways; 16 feet or more is recommended when feasible, depending on tree type and location.
  • Maintain adequate clearance over sidewalks, generally 6–7 feet for pedestrian safety. Raising lower limbs higher may also improve lawn health by allowing additional light to reach grass areas.
  • Please increase the height of tree canopies where needed so street lamps are not blocked, improving nighttime visibility.
  • Homeowners are responsible for all trees on their property, including those located between the street and sidewalk.
  • ARC approval is required for any tree removal, and trees removed from curb areas must be replaced in accordance with community guidelines.
  • Please address these issues and keep our community safe prior to February 9 to avoid violations.

  • As a courtesy to residents, Brother’s Tree, who recently did an excellent job pruning trees around the clubhouse, has provided estimated pricing per tree of:  Approximately $150 for removal of lower limbs to achieve needed clearanceA total of $250 to include removal of lower limbs, thinning, and removal of dead limbs.
